Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna MP Dilan Perera claims three distinct groups were behind the Gota Go Home Aragalaya. He said he is yet unable to name the third party involved. Perera made these comments in an interview with the Asian Mirror.
He said one party is definitely the current President Ranil Wickremesinghe who made away with the trophy of the Aragalaya. According to him unknown to the youth involved, Wickremesinghe had a hand in the citizen’s protests.
Perera also revealed that at least two members of the Rajapaksa family were involved in the Aragalaya against President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. He noted that these members stoked the protests in order to clinch power after Gotabaya Rajapaksa is forced to set down.
