Ajinkya Rahane hit the fastest half-century of IPL 2023 to complement Chennai Super King’s spinners in a statement seven-wicket victory over fellow IPL powerhouse Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede.
Before Rahane could dazzle the MI bowlers with his array of strokes around the ground, it was the spin pair of Ravindra Jadeja and Mitchell Santner that picked five wickets between them and punctured holes into MI’s innings to leave them with a below-par total. The Rahane-inspired chase was then capped off with 11 balls and seven wickets to spare, keeping MI winless in two games.
