Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Eastern, Uva, Northern, North-central, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the afternoon or night. Fairly heavy showers above 75mm are likely at some places.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places elsewhere during the afternoon or night. Showers may occur in the Western province during the morning too.
Winds will be south-westerly over sea areas around the island and wind speed will be (20-30) kmph. Wind speed may increase up to (40-45) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Kankasanthurai to Puttalam via Mannar.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Kankasanthurai to Puttalam via Mannar will be fairly rough at times. Sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambanthota via Colombo and Galle will be moderate.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
