The prevailing showery condition over the island is expected to continue further due to the low-level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and Uva provinces and over the eastern coastal areas during the morning. Showers and thundershowers will occur elsewhere of the island during the evening or night.
Heavy showers above 100 mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and North-western provinces.
Winds will be westerly to south-westerly and wind speed will be (30-40) kmph. Wind speed can increase up to 50-55 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Galle to Batticaloa via Matara, Hambantota and Pottuvil.
The sea areas off the coasts extending from Galle to Batticaloa via Matara, Hambantota and Pottuvil may be fairly rough at times while strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
