The Election Commission has decided to mark voters’ index fingers at the upcoming general election on 14 November, Commissioner General of elections, Saman Sri Ratnayake announced yesterday.
He said that the little finger was marked during the Presidential Election on 21st September.
“For the Elpitiya Local Government election on 26th October, the voter’s left thumb will be marked,” he said.
If a voter’s left thumb is unavailable, the mark will be applied to the right thumb or, if necessary, to another finger, as appropriate, Ratnayake added.
