Tamil Progressive Alliance Leader and SJB MP Mano Ganesan said the Government is systematically refusing to adequately incorporate the Opposition in the Parliamentary Standing Committees, Caucuses and Foreign Friendship Associations.
Taking to X, Ganesan said in the past, the JVP campaigned with the rest of the Opposition to obtain chair positions in the parliamentary committees.
“JVP MP Sunil Handunnetti chaired the COPE. It was a democratic system and tradition in the parliament”.However Ganesan lamented that today when in power the party that promised a parliamentary democratic system is systematically refusing to adequately incorporate the opposition in the Parliamentary Committees, Cacuses and Foreign Friendship Associations.
