Multi-talented singer and musician Roger Menezes, who is based in Sydney, Australia, is now a frequent visitor to Sri Lanka.
Yes, of course, he is Sri Lankan, but made Australia his home decades ago.
Roger was last here in September 2024 and performed at the Galadari Hotel on a regular basis.
On that occasion, he was to extend his stay in the island for a longer period but had to return to Sydney as he was invited to perform at a 60th wedding anniversary celebration.
Roger is now ready to emplane again for Colombo and is due in the island tonight.
He already has two commitments in Colombo – the Cheers Pub, Cinnamon Grand, on 03rd Feb, and at a private function at the Hilton on 5th Feb.
The private function, says Roger, is a reunion of a married couple, from Dallas, in the USA, with family members in Sri Lanka.
Roger will be in town till 18th February and then head for home.
According to Roger, Sri Lanka is actually his home.
“I have so many friends and fans here that I truly feel lonely when I’m in Sydney.
‘My fan base has increased since I started performing here and I keep getting invitations, from ardent fans, to visit them whenever I’m in town.”
