Attorney General (AG) Dappula Livera had informed Acting IGP C. D. Wickremeratne that stalling investigations in the case of Riyaj Bathiudeen by the Criminal Investigations Department is unjustified, NewsFirst reported.
State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne, the Coordinating Officer to the Attorney General said that at a meeting with CID, AG observed the decision to release Riyad Bathiudeen was made on unjustifiable grounds.
Meanwhile Riyaj Bathiudeen sending a letter to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa calls for his re-arrest are politically motivated.
