First Lady Maithree Wickremesinghe arrived here ahead of President Ranl Wickremesinghe who arrived on Thursday (May 4) accompanied by a few foreign ministry/security officials to attend King Charles’ Coronation.

A reception was held at the High Commissioner’s official residence at St. John’s Wood on Thursday evening with a limited guest list including a few British dignitaries and foreign ambassadors.
First Lady Maithree Wickremesinghe arrived in London a few days ago and the Sunday Island learns that she used her own funds for the trip.
Director of the President’s Security Division SSP Jamaldeen also arrived in London a few days before the President to check security arrangements. President Wickremesinghe is staying at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane and is due to leave London on May 7.
