Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Parliamentarian Harsha de Silva has been appointed as the Chairman of the Committee on Public Finance (COPF). The Parliamentary Select Committee, which convened on Tuesday (17), appointed members to the Committee on Public Finance in accordance with Standing Order 121 of Parliament and the resolution passed by Parliament on December 6, 2024. Subsequently, MP Harsha de Silva was appointed as the Chairman of the COPF.
The Speaker announced the names of the appointed members to Parliament yesterday (18). The members appointed to the Committee on Public Finance include Deputy Minister Harshana Suriyapperuma and MPs Ravi Karunanayake, Harshana Rajakaruna, Nimal Palihena, Wijesiri Basnayake, Thilina Samarakoon, and Lakmali Hemachandra.
